I began editing fiction full time in 2007, and after a two-year stint as an acquisition and content editor for Samhain Publishing, I became a freelance developmental editor for Harlequin’s Carina Press imprint. In addition to my freelance work for publishers, I also offer my editing services directly to fiction authors. I’ve edited USA TODAY and New York Times bestsellers, RITA-nominated romances, and titles that have received the National Readers’ Choice Award and starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, and Kirkus Reviews.

I read widely across many genres and enjoy both dark and humorous stories. I love crime fiction, suspense/thrillers, capers, romance, women’s fiction, YA and SFF. I have a degree in history as well as English literature, which gives me a special fondness for historical settings in all forms, whether in mystery, fantasy, historical fiction, romance, steampunk, or alternate history.

On working with an editor: “We have the same goal in view, and that's to make it better.”
  • 12 years’ experience editing for publishers and indie clients.

  • 500+ manuscripts edited across an array of genres.

  • An author-friendly style: I’m all about your story. I believe the hand of the editor should be invisible, so I won’t try to change your voice. My mission is to help you polish your manuscript so it’s the best it can be.
